Tez had his shot and did cut it and keeping him on the team is only taking it away from a racer that has more talent and more of a chance to compete. That is all I was trying to say, when I said about time.
You're assuming that because of Tez, someone who's faster is not getting his or her chance. What makes you think MJ would give Tez's ride to someone just because he or she "deserves" the ride more than Tez? You have to realize that MJ helped Tez out because he wanted to help Tez and not because he wanted results. Hell if winning was everything, he could've hired people even faster than Pridmore or Rapp or people more "deserving" of it than them. What do you consider a success? A championship maybe? Hell, then Rapp blew his chance a long time ago too. Did you ever think to yourself how in the hell Ben Bostrom keeps getting rides? Maybe it's because chicks dig him and he's good for marketing even though he's a freaking backmarker in WSBK or could it be the AMA superbike championship he won without winning a freaking race. The point is that there's more to getting a ride than just being fast. Otherwise, Michael Barnes, Robert Jensen, and Chris Peris would all be factory riders. On a final note, if that is all you were trying to say, then maybe you should've left out the part about what Tez has done besides crash. Peace....

I don't know.. like who? Pridmore finished on the podium at Daytona and has a solid record in more than one class. Steve Rapp is amazing too, who do you have in mind, that is available, who could possibly trump these two? I'll bet MJ is lookin' pretty hard... I'll bet he's pretty serious about seeing some more top 3 finishes and maybe even a win............. O M G ..... what did I just say.... everyone knows that only the factory teams can win. Really though, I just wonder if there is anyone available that can give him what he wants, any more than Pridmore and Rapp. I hear Gobert needs a ride.......... :jester Seriously, who do you think MJ should hire?

I got to meet tez

hey tez is a good guy who was riding to the limit of what he is capable of and he represents the future to people like nike. But the jordan team is getting bigger from the sponsor standpoint and they expect more and if a proven threat for the title like a eboz comes up it has to do with instant results which is why they hired rapp and pridmore. tez will get a ride for 06 you watch on another suzuki based team just satelite not factory.

Short term, he'll probably snag one of the bigger name privateers. Later on, I seriously think he'll get Nicky Hayden. There's a lot of mutual respect there and after a Moto GP run Nicky won't need the money. He's crazy enough to do it, even for one season, just to have fun.

Gobert wouldn't be a bad idea eh? :laughing If I was MJ, I'd hire Robert Jensen and Chris Peris for Supersport, Josh Hayes and Jake Holden for Superbike and Superstock. Couple old guys mixed in with couple young guys. Anyways, the point was that there's more to it than just being really fast. Do you concur? :)

Tez .... I believe.

Gotta read the whole thread.....

Big money and corporate involvment brings big expectations.

Tez didn't deliver at the AMA level well enough to retain the big dollar ride.

He came out in April to practice and show us "track-day" guys how fast he was .....
and how foolish and rude he could be while passing ..... kind of a jerk in that regard.

Jordan was and still is considered satelite. I wish Tez luck but I would not count on him being picked up by a team. The harsh reality is that there are a lot of younger guns comming up that have gotten better results and that are just plain faster. Nothing against Tez, it just shows how tough it really is.

Now see to me this is the real question that needs answering. I was just thinking this myself after the last few races of WSBK, and I thought wait a minute how does this guy even still have a ride, he hasn't done anything really. :laughing

I think the point that Rev is trying to make is that Pro racing is a business, and there are other things that promote business, and that the reason Tez got the opportunity he got is no different than some of the factors that played into Hayden going to MotoGP on the factory team, or why Rossi is getting the kind of offers for driving a friggin F1 car that he's getting. It comes down to marketing, promotion, and a variety of things that to me combined with the personal relationship Tez had with Jordan made him a good fit.

As I said before I doubt Montez is going to be that upset, he had a great opportunity and he will take something away regardless of whether or not he is riding for them in 06' or for that matter does anyone know Montez well enough to even know whether or not continuing a Pro racing career was something he wanted long term.

Montez may not have been the best rider in the paddock but he was surely the best representative. He would talk and BS with anyone, he made you feel good about the sport. At RA he was the only rider that actually invited me into a conversation, just to bullshit about the race. I'm not big on seeking out riders to talk to them, but while passing by he just said whats up and we chatted for a bit. You KNOW he has a love for the sport and you KNOW he feels lucky that he is there. Good dude in my book.

Yep. Very easy to get along with. Kinda miss having him, Chris Weeden and Kevin Gordon at the CCS races.
